Dominion Theatre, London: It's the oldest cliche in showbiz to stay a star is born, but one has arrived in Madelena Alberto in the title role of the West End's new Evita. I first saw her onstage in a 2012 production of the musical Jekyll and Hyde at the 50-seat Union Theatre in Southwark. Now the alternately fierce and fragile actress swaps that tiny arena for the vast stage and auditorium of the 2,069 seater Dominion, and owns it with just as much shattering conviction.
