The Theatre, Chipping Norton: The centre spread in the programme for this new take on the Jules Verne classic gives us a potted account of steampunk, that 21st-century take on the sometimes madcap technological progress of the Victorian age. Toby Hulse and John Terry have taken this aesthetic as their starting point, and created a pacey, inventive romp that bottles some of the kinetic energy of the 19th-century only to release it with a raised eyebrow and a giggle.
