Information that we collect from you
We may collect information contained in any correspondence, or any other interaction between you and us.
The details which you provide about yourself and any information which identifies you such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, country of residence and credit and debit card details ("Personal Information") will only be retained by us if you provide this information when using one of the services available on the Site, for example such as posting a message, subscribing to one of our email lists, or signing up for membership.
We limit the collection of personally identifiable user data to purposes which serve the well-being of the Site, including but not limited to the following:
To enhance the public accountability of their contributions. Theatre Profile recognises that any system that is open enough to allow the greatest possible participation of the general public will also be vulnerable to certain kinds of abuse and counterproductive behaviour. Theatre Profile has established a number of mechanisms to prevent or remedy abusive activities. For example, when investigating abuse on a Content, including the suspected use of malicious “sockpuppets” (duplicate accounts), vandalism, harassment of other users, or disruptive behaviour, and accounts of users may be used to identify the source(s) of the abusive behaviour.
To provide site statistics. Theatre Profile web analytic applications and other statistical gathering devices to gather as much information as possible on the usage of the site so that we can improve the user experience.
To solve technical problems. Log data may be examined by developers in the course of solving technical problems and in tracking down badly-behaved web spiders that overwhelm or damage the Site.
User contributions are also aggregated and publicly available. User contributions are aggregated according to their registration and login status.
Edits to content pages are identified with the username or email address of the editor. Any user-generated content can be contested or corrected by other editors and anyone visiting the site.
Collecting information about you
We may collect information about your computer and your visits to the Site and this may include your IP address, referrer URL (if provided), geographical location, browser type, length of visit and number of pages views. We may use this information for a number of purposes such as optimising the use of the Site or for security purposes. In particular, we may use an analytics service provider for website traffic analysis and reporting and to track information such as which browser, screen resolution and IP address you are using to access our website, in addition, to tracing your movements around our website. We collect this information to help us diagnose problems and administer our systems and to audit the geographical make up of users and how they have arrived at our site; that is what other sites have visitors arrived – this information being obtained from the referrer URL.
We do not normally link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that you remain anonymous even though we include your IP address in our aggregate information. However, we can and will attempt to use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our terms and conditions, or to protect our services and other users.
Use of your information
Personal Information will be held on our system and used for operational purposes such as the processing of your subscription to our membership services and for mailing list subscriptions. Personal information will also be used to customise your experience with the Site and provide you with appropriate content for your geographic area and content you have interacted with previously on the site.
In order to process a transaction, your Personal Information and card details may be passed to third party service providers. Card details will only be used for the purpose of handling an individual transaction.
The Personal Information you supply when you join one of our e-mail lists, or membership option, will be used by the Theatre Profile to keep you up-to-date with events and activities on Theatre Profile. You are given the opportunity to opt in to receiving newsletters, news and information from Theatre Profile.
We may from time to time ask you for further information in order to update our records or for particular purposes. We will always tell you how we will use any further information received from you. From time to time we will need to send you the Site and service announcement updates.
Disclosure of your information
Content is primarily contributed by users. Some dedicated users are chosen to be given privileged access. For example, users who have been in the Theatre industry and have a track record for providing consistent accurate information are able to edit any non-claimed page with content that cannot be altered.

When you supply Theatre Profile with Personal Information, from time-to-time, you may be asked to indicate whether you are interested in receiving information from Theatre Profile, about special offers in connection with the Site, and/or our advertisers and partners. Unless you opt out to receive such communications, we may, from time to time, send you marketing communications.
If you no longer desire to receive the commercial email we send, you will be given the opportunity to opt out of receiving such messages in the future by clicking on the link at the bottom of the email that says "unsubscribe." It may take up to 6 days for us to process an opt-out request. Even if you have unsubscribed from receiving third party promotional emails from us, we may send you other types of important e-mail communications without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. These may include customer service announcements, administrative notices and surveys. Please note that opting out of receiving promotional email communications will affect only future communications from us. If we already provided your information to a third party before you changed your preferences or updated your information, you may have to change your preferences directly with that third party as well.
Affiliate and Third Party Communications. From time-to-time, you may be provided with the opportunity to opt-in to receive offers directly from third parties. Unless you opt out to accept any such offer(s), any Personal Information provided to Theatre Profile for such purposes may be shared with third-party partner(s), to allow such third parties to provide you with valuable information you may enjoy. If you would prefer that we no longer share your Personal Information with our affiliates and/or with third parties for their marketing purposes, you may opt-out of such future sharing at any time by following the procedure above, provided however, you may not be able to opt out of certain third party offers that are displayed on our Site.
Theatre Profile is not intended for use by children under the age of thirteen (13). If you are under thirteen (13), you may not submit information about yourself to Theatre Profile. We request that any such person under the age of thirteen (13) years old not use our Site. If a parent or guardian believes that his or her child may have provided us with Personal Information, for example, by misrepresenting his or her age, that parent or guardian should contact us at [email protected] with the particulars of the information we are alleged to have collected. If we determine that your child under the age of thirteen (13) years old has provided us Personal Information we will immediately delete all such information.
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is downloaded on to your computer or any other device used to visit a website (for example a mobile phone). Cookies are used by many websites to enable the website to work efficiently and to distinguish you from other users in order to improve your browsing experience. For example, cookies can remember your preferences so you do not have to input the same data each time you visit a website, record what you have put in your shopping basket, and count the number of people viewing a website to analyse whether the website is being used or whether the content needs to be updated.
Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions
Limitation of Liability Theatre Profile will not under any circumstances be liable to You for any consequential, incidental or special damages (including but not limited to lost profits) arising out of your use of our Site , or any contribution from or about You made on our Site, even if apprised of the likelihood of such damages occurring. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Theatre Profile’s liability is limited to the actual cost of any product or service purchased by You though the Site.
Your California Privacy Rights. If you are a California resident, you have the right to request information about how we share certain categories of personal information with third parties. California law gives you the right to send us a request at a designated address to receive the following information:
the categories of information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year; the names and addresses of the third parties that received that information; and if the nature of the third party's business cannot be determined from their name, examples of the products or services marketed.
